J. [Charles Stansfeld Jones] tells me he went to the Saturday evening meeting of the "Aquarian Movement." He saw Taylor[1] afterwards, he had however not yet received the letter. J. read to him a second one he had written, which he had intended to be read out to the members.

Taylor seems to have been interested and took the letters with a view to studying them seriously.

The second letter was very good too. He had picked out passage from the Book of the Law which fitted in with the views they themselves were expressing.

To day the elections are on. I went over town to see J. and find out the results. The Union party get in means that we get conscription; I think this will bring trouble out here.

1—[Jones was trying to get Taylor to bring a Vancouver, British Columbia, "Aquarian Movement" under the O.T.O. This came about after Herbert (Harry?) Musclow, the leader of the movement was sentenced to five years' imprisonment for fraud. Mr. Taylor took control of the movement during Mr. Musclow's imprisonment.]
